Frequently Asked Questions

Internet / WiFi / WLAN ?

WiFi is free - you will find the Password in your documentation in the apartment.
We have an Vodafone-Cable-Internet-Contract of max. 300 Mbit/s download (30 Mbit/s Upload) for the whole house.
The internetspeed depends on, e.g.:
- your hardware (quality of antenna, wlan-standard, browser and settings, VPN-usage, etc.)
- intensity of usage from all users, of the shared connection
- your location in the house to one of our repeater. The router and repeater are restarting automatically daily at ca. 02:00 or 03:00.

If you need a high-speed-internet for your own, it is possible for you to close a contract with a provider of your choice (please contact us upfront! glasfibre installation has issues); the apartments have a TV-cable, to connect with a Vodafone-Cable-TV-Internet-Network (instead of the installed Sat-Reciever) (08/2024 up to max. 1,000 Mbit/s) or as well a telefoneline (not Friedrich) (08/2024 DSL up to max. 16 Mbit/s).
An other option is to use tethering/mobile hotspot on your cellphone; local providers: e.g. https://www.verivox.de/handy/mobilfunkanbieter/.

Telephone options (voice and data)

If you want local phone and mobile internet there are many cell-phone-providers and options in Germany - you might want to search the internet for the best fitting option for your specific needs.
e.g.: www.mygermanphone.de/carrier-overview/. Please check the cancelation terms - quite often shops want to sell 2 year contracts (and it might be a big hassle to end it before)! => prepaid could be an easy option!

Parking

In the streets around us you will find metered parking spaces.
Free parking should be possible in walking distance, ca. 7min, e.g. Augustaallee / Elisabethenbrunnen or Schwedenpfad (right hand side) or in the park house Seedammweg (1km).
It is possible to rent a parking space in a parking facility in our vicinity, e.g. at the Casino (ca. 600m).
If you choose to have your main residence here your can apply for an anual "Anwohnerparkausweis" for a small fee.

Water

The water directly out of the faucet is good quality drinking water (best monitored nutrion in Germany).
In the cure park you will find a lot of different tasting spring waters, which have different health effects and made Bad Homburg famous.

Cannabis, gras, weed consumption

In the spirit of mutual consideration (e.g. odor nuisance), smoking weed/cannabis is not permitted on our premisses.
Please use e.g. the Kurpark for this purpose, and please note the distances to the children's playgrounds/sports facilities (https://bubatzkarte .de/#17/50.22641/8.62211).
